Generative 3D NFT collection design for Distortion Festival

The Problem
Create a generative 3D NFT collection for Distortion Festival that could scale to thousands of distinct combinations without losing visual consistency or feeling like a random assembly of parts.
The Approach
I built a character framework translating the festival's energy into a scalable system — body proportions, facial features, clothing and accessories designed as interchangeable trait groups with explicit rules for compatibility, rarity and silhouette, so every generated combination stayed recognisably part of one collection. Each component was modelled as production-ready modular geometry with shared materials and controlled topology so assets could combine reliably at scale. I then built the Blender pipeline to assemble, validate and render the collection — managing trait randomisation, rarity weighting and lighting consistency automatically.
Outcome
A complete, integration-ready collection — final imagery, structured metadata and documented asset rules — rather than a set of isolated renders.
