Multi-format marketing campaign design for Bored Ape Joke Club

The Problem
Promote the Bored Ape animated comedy set with enough narrative depth and visual variety to sustain an extended social rollout — treating the character as a fully realised entertainment personality rather than a one-off campaign mascot.
The Approach
I gave the Ape a fictional backstory, personality and career narrative to seed recurring jokes and recognisable behaviours, then extended that narrative visually through parody magazine covers, celebrity portraits and simulated interview appearances — each format adopting the visual grammar of its real-world reference (layout, lighting, typography, broadcast graphics) while staying consistent with the character's comedic identity. A pre-recorded Twitch broadcast was built to feel live, with overlays, alerts and chat UI suggesting spontaneous reactions, and the wider asset set was adapted across Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord as teasers and episodic reveals.
Outcome
One animated performance turned into a broader narrative world and a sustained bank of cross-platform social content.
